Come Join Cherished Blogfest 2016!

cherished-badge16The Cherished Blogfest is near and dear to my heart.

Last year my blogger friends organized the Cherished Blogfest in which we talked about the most cherished objects in our lives; I wrote and painted about Buddha Ball.

As a result of this blogfest and regular reading of their blogs,
I have become real life cyber friends with them —

w14-11-lojong_2Cherished Blogfest is happening July 29, 30, 31 this year!
I invite you to share the most cherished object in your possession.
Objects that stir your fondest, deepest memories.

I do daily gratitude, and especially in these times, I find giving thanks for
goodness daily to be one thing that sometimes makes the difference between me having a good day or a bad day.  I do gratitude morning when I wake and at night before I go to bed.  Mostly my gratitude comes in the form of husband and cats and friends
and good food… It is entirely different to look at why we cherish objects!  As I have been having fun drawing objects and memories in a Bright Ideas journal, I can see how we link objects to memories to make them important.  Why we keep that garish plastic ring out first friend in Portland gave us when he invited us to a party, or the many post-its Mitchell’s written to make me laugh which I keep in a box.

Me and my friends – Dan Antion, Sharukh BamboatDamyanti Biswas, Mary Giese,
Peter NenaCheryl Pennington – will be getting to know you through the story you tell about one of your cherished objects.  (We are also running the blogfest this year!)
Tell us what your object is, post a picture / drawing of it if you like, and tell us why you cherish it.  500 words, pictures, posted on the 29th, 30th or 31st of July 2016 (or all three if you are ambitious!) in sharing memories, emotions, and information.  Through the Cherished Blogfest Linky List you can share your story
and make new connections and renew old ones.

Help us spread the word: save (right-click, save image) the badge below
and place it on your sidebar.  Tell your friends on social media.

Sign up in the Cherished Linky List which will
open in a new window.  Signing up today indicates
that you want to participate; others can see your
name on the blogroll as a participant.  When the
Cherished Blogfest goes live on the 29th, you will enter your blog post entry into a second Linky List. That list
will be preserved here so that your post will continue
to be associated with the Cherished Blogfest and people will always be able to find your post from this site.

BTW, I will be writing on both my blogs,
because my artist self cherishes very different things
than my other self.
Wow these selves can get confused….
