Our Old Man

You suck mom . . .

You suck mom . . .

He’s my favorite guy, I’m sorry, but yes, both of us have our special relationships with each of the cats and he is my boy.  As he is getting older, he has become Demando-cat.  He comes to my side when I am on the computer.  “I want kisses on my forehead.”

It’s our ritual, and while Mitchell does it too, it was always our ritual and having Mitchell do it is not enough.    This morning I could not, because I am shellacking and cannot have cat hair on me.  I explain this, but he does not care.   He begins to bite me on the knee, and it tickles mostly.

“That is not going to work Bitey-Boy.”

He starts in again, “I goth mayth tooth thuck,” is the next thing I mentally hear as I feel his little snaggle tooth and my old painting sweats rip.   This does not detour him, and he goes in more vigorously.

“Hey!  That hurt!”

“You suck Mom.”  Off he goes to find Mitchell, tail at an angle.

Ah, your Old Man reminds me of little r…unrelenting! Great photos and, dang, nice marker kat.

  2. I grew up with cats but now am very allergic. Our son adores them, so we visited a family with a hypoallergenic Abyssinian. Sneezing, itching, hives, etc. in about 30 minutes. So sad. Give Bitey-boy a cheek rub and eye scratch for me and one from my son.

  3. “Demando-cat” ! Love it. Reminds me of my old boy Joey. I miss him like a sonuvagun. He used to sit with me on my lap, under a robe. When I needed to get up, I’d pick up the entire parcel and put “it” on the couch. Return to my chair, and he’d ask back up.
